Geothermy & the Nisyrians fighting against it

This is what was left after the first trial to use geothermal energy in the 80ies

This is what was left after the first trial to use geothermal energy in the 80ies
The volcanic island of Nisyros could be a perfect place for the use of geothermal energy.

The Greek electric power company DEH tried to do a geothermal power station in the 80ies, but without enough knowledge and acid resisting material, they were not successful. An area was polluted with sulphur and other poisoning chemicals.

The Greek electric power company DEH tried to do the same also on Milos island and also there the nature was polluted and the people of Milos blew the power station up with some dynamite...

The people on Nisyros and Milos islands do not anymore trust this company and they will not allow the company to distroy their beautyful islands.

Geothermy could solve the energy problem, but not with this company.
They should take experienced companies from USA, Iceland or even Italy to built such a power plant, but never again a Greek company...
