The new volcanological museum of Nisyros
On June 21, 2008 the new volcanological museum of Nisyros was opened in the beautyful village of Nikia. Many local and national politicians and ministers have followed the celebration of the opening. In teh new museum you get aperfect information about how a volcano works and who Nisyros volcanoes created this beautyful island. We are proud that VolcanoDiscovery provided many photos of active volcanoes to design this new museum. The photos of Tom Pfeiffer can be seen on Volcano-Photo and of course on VolcanoDiscovery. We keep on in the tradition to support volcanological museums international, like f.e. the volcanological museum LAVA-DOME in the volcanic Eifel region in Germany.
We will support also Nisyros and its hospital people and its corporative municipality with Mr Nikos Karakonstaninos as mayor.
